Based in Ohio, Lott Industries employs more than 1,000 people with various kinds of disabilities. The seemingly monotonous work of assembling automobile components provides most of them not only a regular income, but also a degree of independence and self-confidence. But the company falls on hard times with the auto industry crisis. Director Victor Buhler closely follows the stories of three factory employees as well as management’s 12-month battle to transform the company and avoid layoffs.
